Arsenal's misfit Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Inter Milan are all said to be interested in signing William Saliba this summer.
The 20-year-old centre-back has continued to impress on loan in Ligue 1 this season, appearing in all but one of Marseille's league games.
And according to Calciomercato, his progress this season might trigger a bidding war between his current French club, LaLiga leaders Real, and Serie A giants Milan.
Los Blancos have even contacted his parent club Arsenal, who are thought to value him at £25 million, to negotiate a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu, according to the source. According to the same source, everyone who is interested admires the France U21 international's strength and aggression, as well as his tackle abilities.
Saliba joined Arsenal from Saint-Etienne for £27 million in 2019 before being loaned back to the Ligue 1 club for the remainder of the season.
He was left out of Mikel Arteta's Europa League squad upon his return, and he did not make a first-team appearance before joining Nice on loan for the second half of the season.
Last summer, Saliba went on loan to a third different French club, Marseille, with whom he has made 29 appearances in all competitions.
Former Arsenal forward Stephy Mavididi, on the other hand, believes Saliba is "one of the best" centre-backs he has ever faced and believes he will walk into the 2022-23 Arsenal. In an interview with LiveScore, the current Montpellier standout stated of Saliba, "That guy's a player." 'He's without a doubt one of the top defenders in the league.' I believe he will return to the Arsenal team next season. "How is this guy not playing for Arsenal?" I thought when I played against him last year.
'He's strong, good on the ball, and has a terrific understanding of the game.' Sometimes you walk off the field and think to yourself, 'Well done, dude, respect.' You have to say, fair play, this person is a good player because he has stayed up with you, outtussled you, and out quitted you. 'He's one of the best center-backs I've ever played against.' Everyone can talk about Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, and Jerome Boateng, but he's at the top of the list.' He was the one who most startled me. I'm an Arsenal fan as well, and when I was up against Saliba, I thought to myself, 'We've got a very good defender here!'
